	Minister Ronald Plasterk (Cultuur) was de eerste die de wereldvermaarde mezzosopraan Cecilia Bartoli na afloop van haar prachtige concert in het Amsterdamse Concertgebouw feliciteerde met haar prijs, de Edison klassiek. "Wat een stem en overtuiging heeft u", sprak Plasterk bewonderend. Herman van Veen had haar eerder op de avond het beeldje uitgereikt, na een lofrede in de grote zaal. Het was al weer haar vierde Edison. Haar concert dat al lang van tevoren was uitverkocht, kende vele toegiften voor de dolenthousiaste zaal. Het ondernemerspaar Irene en Haas Schreuder hadden liefst 48 gasten, onder wie Philips-baas Gerard Kleisterlee, uitgenodigd om het bijzondere concert bij te wonen. Daarvóór genoot een select gezelschap van een prima diner in Le Garage van Joop Braakhekke. de tekst die Herman uitsprak (bron: weblog Herman van Veen): Dear madam Bartoli, Ladies and gentlemen, Sometimes you hear a voice that takes your breath away, it makes you stop vacuuming like it used to happen with my mother when Edith Piaf was on the radio. Bad luck for him, he never heard Cecilia Bartoli sing. We are privileged. Her last cd, which she made in tribute to Maria Malibran, is a gem.
